Behind Ant McPartlin's new bundle of joy, lies heartache after he struggled to start a family with his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.

Ant McPartlin announced that he had become a father after welcoming a new baby into the world. However, despite the bundle of new joy bringing a new light into his life, the 48-year-old battled behind closed doors.
Ant was previously married to Lisa Armstrong between 2006 and 2018 with the pair publicly sharing their fertility issues. Lisa, 47, struggling to conceive with the pair both longing to become parents.
Over the years the ITV star has shared his dreams of becoming a father and admitted the toll it took. He once dubbed it being “tough” on them after they tried for a baby back in 2013.
However, following their split, he struck up a romance with close PA Anne-Marie Corbett. The pair’s relationship has gone from strength to strength with him taking on her two kids.
The Britain's Got Talent star announced the news of their son's birth on Tuesday, 14 May, via a sweet post on Ant and Dec's joint social media channel. This came after he married his wife Anne-Marie, 48, back in 2021.

His wife gave birth to her third child with them naming their son Wilder Patrick McPartlin. In the sweet snap, Ant made a reference to his stepchildren from Anne-Marie’s previous marriage.
Sharing to his 5.1 million Instagram followers he wrote: "Welcome to the family Wilder Patrick McPartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!"
Next to the caption Ant was seen cradling the newborn as he appeared topless giving him skin-to-skin.

On his right arm, the presenter noticeably had a tattoo which acknowledged Anne-Marie’s two teenage daughters.
The tattoo illustrated a family tree with Poppy and Daisy’s names attached to it as well as the family's dogs.
In the first official photo of the tot, it attracted over 55,000 likes in just 10 minutes.

Tributes poured in for the Britain’s Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway host on social media, as fans praised the unique and unusual name.
"Awww welcome to the world Wilder! So happy for you both, congratulations," one wrote.
Another said, "Beyond happy for you Ant - the final piece of the puzzle to make all your dreams come true. Congratulations to u amazing poppy and daisy enjoy every second of little Wilder (sic)."
