Homemade Low Carb Taco Seasoning Mix is an easy and delicious option for seasoning your next batch of tacos. If carbs are a struggle for you, then you know they sneak into everything, even taco seasoning. So, while this isn’t just for those on a keto or low carb diet, it is an added benefit.

Low Carb Taco Seasoning Mix

We do not like to purchase pre-made spice packs because of the extra, unnecessary ingredients so we make our own! We have been using this one for years and wanted to share. You probably already have all of these spices so save your money (and improve your health) and make your own seasoning!

Tips for storing Low Carb Taco Seasoning Mix

This recipe is great for using right away, but sometimes you know you will use something often enough that making a big batch is a must. I love making a large batch of this low carb taco seasoning and storing in an airtight container.

There are tons of simple glass jars with lids that seal well that work for this (like these Square Spice Bottles). Just remember to use a label so you know what blend is mixed in each jar. I love chalkboard labels as they are so easy to erase and change if I reuse the jars for something different later.

More Homemade Seasoning Blends

I much prefer making my own seasoning blends especially since I can control the amount of sugar and salt included. Since I began testing out different blends, I decided to share my favorites with you. Below are links to all of our homemade seasoning blends. They are ideal for making and keeping on hand for any fast meal.

  • Ranch Seasoning
  • Kickin’ Chicken Seasoning

Man, I love this mixture and use it on everything – grilled meat, ground chicken, beef, turkey…so good without all the MSG and other junk you get in the packaged stuff. I also love how you can make a bulk amount by expanding the recipe and have it handy at all times.

Years ago I figured out what to use by reading the back of the spice packet so I always keep the individual spices. Problem is I never knew the ratios so I seasoned to taste. (Cumin is the key) Thanks for posting this!

OMG! Thanks for posting this! I usually season my own turkey instead of buying the packets and it’s pretty good but I hadn’t thought about oregano or onion powder! I will try this 🙂

I enjoy having my own homemade taco seasoning compared to buying it in the store, it just makes me feel a little more domestic and I know what is going into what we eat at home! My husband doesn’t like spicy foods and other taco seasoning mixes I have tried making before are too spicy for his liking, this one is great!
