Rare Early Pearlware Childs Miniature Dinner Set Veg TureenSEAWEED FLORAL CHINTZCharles Meigh Staffordshire England c.1835This is stunning childs miniature toy dollhouse vegetable serving bowl c 1835. Originally part of a complete children's toy dinner service, the tiny octagonal bowl measures 3-1/8 inches long with a flat bottom, standing 1/2 inch tall.The pattern name is unknown. Decorated with an overall seaweed floral chintz medley of tiny primrose and seaweed coral and ferns. It has been attributed to Charles Meigh in the Staffordshire district in England in the early to mid-19th century. The pattern is especially earthy and beautiful in this rich forest green. The decoration was elaborately designed with impeccable detailing for the diminutive size of the piece. The piece is unmarked.The tureen is in great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Stilt marks, glaze pops, kiln fleck, ponded glaze and other minor manufacturing flaws, original to the making, adding to the authenticity and charm with typical minor glaze crazing consistent with age and prior use. Sold as is.
